About
In the marching band world our activity has evolved to become very physically demanding, requiring not just musical proficiency but athleticism in rehearsal and performance. Marching arts (including marching band, drum and bugle corps, winter guard, indoor drumline, winds, and more) require much training and practicing in order to produce the quality products that we strive for every season. To neglect the educational components regarding optimizing our performers’ bodies for the show is to hold the ensemble back from producing that quality product that has been so carefully designed and painstakingly rehearsed.
Fit to March seeks to provide comprehensive information and resources for you to bridge that gap between artistic performer and athlete; to allow the performer to rise to their full performance potential and achieve that best run of the season by taking control of the variables dictating the success of the most important instrument on the field: the performer’s body.
By exploring and mastering the topics of nutrition and hydration, physical conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery, performers can take ownership of the physical and athletic components of their performances to amplify the quality of the show and their performing experience. When we feel our best we can perform to the best of our ability. Mastering the instrument of your own human body levels up your performance so that you can give even more to your show for that perfect run. Expand your knowledge base and master your primary instrument so that you and your body are Fit to March.
